Through advocacy and consulting, acquisition and rehabilitation, limited partnerships with financial institutions, pooling of personal financial resources, sweat equity by church families and other efforts, the ECDC has assisted more than 25 individuals and families, including formerly incarcerated women and their families, to become residents of the neighborhood around the church. She founded the organization in 2002 to address the unmet needs of families living in shelters as they prepared to move into their own homes.  Through her work as a volunteer coordinator for the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Indianapolis (IHN), Schrock recognized that families transitioning from assisted living to independent living lacked basic household items needed to establish a comfortable home. Second Starts provides donated items to more than 50 families every month.</p>';

In addition to a paycheck, the people he has worked with  have gained life skills, independence, enhanced self-esteem, and other social, psychological and physical rewards that come from being employed. Through his work Richardson helps homeless persons in Marion County meet their personal goals and maintain stable housing.</p>';

			response = '<h1>Blueprint Champion - Collaboration</h1><p>The Employment Network is a collaborative of more than 70 state and local advocates formed in 2006 by John Lechleiter, CEO of Eli Lilly and Company; Bert van den Bergh, Vice President at Eli Lilly and Company; The Indianapolis Private Industry Council; the Mayor\'s Office and consultant Suzanne Clifford. Their goal is to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities. The Network\'s Homeless Action Team designed a hospitality training program for homeless and formerly homeless people with disabilities.  In addition to job training and placement, participants will receive wrap-around supportive services to promote long-term retention and career advancement in the hotel, motel, and entertainment industry.</p>';

Moreau, Sr. Veterans House.  In addition to successfully nominating the project as a recipient of "Oprah\'s Big Give Indiana", the Taylors sought the assistance of local churches, schools, families, friends and business to raise cash donations of $110,000 and in-kind donations in the amount of  $100,000.</p>';

William Moreau, Jr. first served as the chair of the Blueprint Team for two years and then as CHIP\'s board chair from April 2003 – July 2008. Moreau\'s strong belief that everyone deserves a home, together with his leadership and vision, have resulted in widespread adoption of the concepts outlined in the Blueprint. A significant result of Moreau\'s advocacy was the passing of a proposal by the City County Council in December of 2007 that will raise an estimated $1.6 million per year for the Indianapolis Low-Income Housing Trust Fund from increased recording fees. Moreau has challenged us all, from the halls of power to the paths worn by poverty, to give of ourselves and improve the lives of all.</p>';

			response = '<h1>Diamond Service Award</h1><p><img src="images/award_winners/Rick_Feuille.jpg" class="award_image" />Rick Feuille is a US Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam. After struggling with multiple health and personal issues, Rick found himself homeless. He was referred to the HVAF of Indiana, Inc. for supportive housing and case management services, and he resided for one year in Carson House. Feuille was assigned the role of House Manager while a resident of the apartment and, since the fall of 2006, Feuille has been employed at HVAF, first as a Peer Mentor, then as a Peer Counselor and Case Manager.</p><p>Feuille continues to provide excellent care to homeless veterans as part of HVAF\'s collaboration with the Indianapolis VA Medical Center in its Special Needs/Vet to Vet program. Since 2005, this program has provided intensive case management and peer mentorship to homeless veterans with a chronic mental illness. Feuille currently serves on the board of directors of CHIP and is chair of the Advocacy Council, a council of currently and formerly homeless individuals who meet to provide feedback on community housing and services and to act as advocates on behalf of all homeless men, women and children in our community.</p>';

			response = '<h1>Blueprint Celebration Special Presenter</h1><p><img src="images/award_winners/Sam_Brown.jpg" class="award_image" />Sam Brown grew up in the streets of Chicago as a street hustler, gang leader and drug dealer, a lifestyle which eventually led to drug addiction and homelessness.  In the late 1990\'s, he moved to Indianapolis and after a couple of years on the street, sought shelter and services at Lighthouse Mission.  With support from Lighthouse Mission and Second Helpings, he graduated in November 1999 from Second Helping\'s Culinary Job Training Program.</p><p>In February 2000, Brown returned to Second Helping as Head Culinary Instructor, where he worked for three years.  He then transitioned to Fairbanks Hospital as their Food Service Manager and has since been promoted to Executive Chef.</p>';

			response = '<h1>Blueprint Celebration Special Presenter</h1><p><img src="images/award_winners/Mark_Nicholson.jpg" class="award_image" />Mark Nicholson served in the Army and Indiana National Guard, and after leaving active duty, attended college at Indiana State University.  During his second year in college, he was involved in a horrible altercation that resulted in his imprisonment.</p><p>Almost twelve years later, Nicholson left prison, homeless and jobless.  His life began to change when he connected with HVAF for housing and Horizon House for medical services.  In 2004, Nicholson applied for and was accepted into law school.  In his first year, his classmates voted him class president.  During the day he worked as Court Bailiff for Marion County and at night he attended law school.  In May 2008, he was the graduation speaker for his law school class.</p><p>Nicholson went from homelessness to house resident to house manager to getting married in September 2008 and owning a four bedroom house.  Nicholson serves on various boards and is involved in the community.</p>';
